WINYA (wi-nya) means to "Sit " in the Wiradjuri dialect.

Full installation and fit-out are provided through our Partnership with Supply Nation members and indigenous owned fit-out companies.

 

In Australia, Commonwealth and State Government procurement polices permit the purchase of value for money product directly from Indigenous owned businesses without the normal lengthy Tender processes (see Government).

 

WINYA's direct Corporate clients and those serving Government contracts, now have the opportunity to purchase high quality office furniture, whilst also meeting Indigenous Opportunity Policy (IOP) requirements. WINYA provides our clients with comprehensive annual consolidated reporting options to assist making RAP or COP (UNGC) commitments easier and more robust. WINYA can also assist with your RAP and staff engagement with our unique on-site programs.

 

WINYA's supply model supports Companies who have signed up to the Commonwealth Government's Parity commitment to increase Indigenous employment and career pathways. We do this by partnering with Indigenous Suppliers and links with nation-wide indigenous and existing Australian and major international suppliers, to manufacture our unique furniture pieces and our comprehensive range of general office furniture. As part of our supply agreements, Suppliers to WINYA commit to employing Indigenous trainees who also become part of Winya’s training and mentoring program.

 

We also work closely with the Prison system in a number of States, to support skills development and engagement programs for Indigenous inmates in furniture manufacturing and assembly and art, as a strategy to improve the chance of employment and self-employment post release and to minimise the risk of future incarceration.
